Chlamydia infection is one of the most widespread bacterial STDs in the United States.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that 5 percent of the young sexually active people are infected with Chlamydia. That is translated to mean one out of every twenty sexually active people in a non-monogamous relationship may have chlamydia. Or one in twenty high school girls may have chlamydia.

Gonorrhea is much more aggressive than chlamydia, and usually produces lots of pus and pain in men, though it may be silent for a while in women. A small number of people may be infected for several months without showing symptoms.
